On a side note, this recipe could easily be adapted to a salmon loaf - a bit easier than shaping a frying many patties. Just pat the ingredients into a loaf shape in a pan with edges and bake at 350 for about 30-40 minutes. - 1/13/09

You don't really need to remove the skin and bones; they add calcium. Just use a fork to mash them up really good. You will never know they are there! - 1/8/09

You can also make these under the broiler like I do. Just spray each side with a bit of cooking spray, I like the butter cooking spray, and broil for about 5 mins per side. Maybe a few moments longer depending on your oven. Great recipe - 1/24/09

I loved this!! The patties were satisfying and flavorful (I added worchestershire and garlic.) I can see myself craving this!! - 1/19/09

I used rolled oats instead of bread crumbs. Good enough to make again. Next time I think I will add garlic powder as we love garlic. - 1/17/09

These were great. I took the advice of other readers and chopped the veggies very fine. They are good size patties for the recipe and great and easy to make. - 2/5/09

Tuna, Salmon, Mackrel. They all work with this. I even used fresh fish. My old man loves it. - 2/3/09

This recipe was good. I just added chopped up broccoli since I did not have celery on hand when I made it. It was yummy. - 1/27/09

If you don't like chopping the vegies, I get Pic Sweet Seasoning mix in the frozen food section usually about 99 cents for a 10 oz bag. That way I have it on hand and don't have to worry about the vegies going bad if I don't get around to using them all. - 1/16/09

We really liked these salmon patties. I didn't have ketchup, we used salsa instead. Mu husband wants to make every night. He loves salmon patties and these were the best, he said. Yes, we will make again. - 1/30/09

    1 can of pink salmon...is that a 7oz can or 14oz? Thanks! - 1/21/09

This recipe was delicious! I substituted dill weed for the spice and made a loaf and baked in 350 oven for 35 minutes per a prior comment. It was moist, tasty and really easy to pull together. I will definitely put this in my list of "regulars". Thanks! - 2/14/09

YUM! We (unexpectedly) had five for dinner, so I diced a carrot, half a green pepper, and a couple green onions and added a couple extra crackers. The extra veggies stretched the can of salmon and were TASTY! - 2/6/09

Thanks to your two spices (chili powder and old bay), this is so much better than what I had been making. Glad I found this quick and easy recipe! - 2/4/09

Good Lenten Friday dinner option. Even the daughter who doesn't like fish ate it. I didn't have bread crumbs so I used cracker crumbs instead. YUM! - 2/27/09

MMM! MMM! Good! This was a great meal paired with a salad of mixed greens, tomatoes and purple onions. The chili powder and Bay seasoning make a very nice taste. I used the liquid from the salmon can, and had no trouble with crumbling. Definitely would make this again. - 2/9/09

I substituted tuna (didn't have salmon) and did this low-carb style with low carb breadcrumbs. Excellent recipe that got seconds from my husband. It's easy and fast. Note that there wasn't enough egg to bind, so I needed to add more eggs and the patties are fragile, so be careful flipping them. - 2/3/09

These were delish! I used two egg whites instead of an egg or egg substitute. They would go great with a low-cal tarter sauce - 1/27/09

Very good recipe! My whole family loved it. I think next time I would make it a little bit more spicy. ;) I used my butter flavored spray, and had no problems with them staying together. - 1/26/09

Great recipe! We started cooking up our patties on the gas grill if it's not too cold (under 15degrees around here!)-- it makes them even ligher in fat, and tastes great! - 1/23/09

The grill sounds good. I use a George Foreman Griddle. You might also like to try it with fresh salmon. I always use any leftover for them when I serve the fresh filets. I just remove the skin and flake it then add the other ingredients. I also sometimes use dill and other spices. enjoy

This is a really good recipe. I didn't have breadcrumbs so substituted crushed saltine crackers. I also used 2 eggs to keep the patties from falling apart. The patties were very tasty. I'll will be making this recipe again. - 2/15/09

I make these with salmon, tuna, or any fish. I use oat bran, egg whites, onion, celery, and add ketchup and mustard to the mixture before browning in olive oil spray. A great way to add more fish to your diet. - 2/12/09

Very yummy alternative to an old favorite that my mother used to make with tuna. I love the veggies and spices that you recommend. I used low carb crushed crackers instead of bread crumbs - and don't drain the juice - it moistens the crumbs! - 1/13/09

After trying this recipe, I will never fry salmon patties again! These were awesome! I broiled them instead of using the grill and they turned out great! - 3/1/09

This was very yummy! I used carrots instead of bell peppers, cut the vegis very small and used 2 eggs. I think next time, I'll make the patties smaller, like golf ball size instead of pankcake size. My boyfriend really enjoyed too! - 2/28/09
