Garden Bounty Couscous

Ingredients
1 cup water2 medium carrots, bias-sliced1/2 of a vegetable bouillon cube1.5 cups pea pods16 oz garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained1 cup quick-cooking couscous.5 cup skim milk1 teaspoon dried savory.25 teaspoon garlic powder.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions
In a medium saucepan combine water, carrots, and bouillon. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 6 minutes. Stir in pea pods. Cover and simmer about 3 minutes more.

Stir chickpeas, uncooked couscous, milk, savory, garlic powder, and pepper into vegetable mixture. Bring just to boiling. Remove from heat; cover and let stand for 5 minutes.

Makes 4 servings.
