Summer No-Cook Oatmeal
- Number of Servings: 1
Ingredients
Directions
1/2 cup oats1/2 cup milk about 25 raisins1 tsp cinnamon
This is a great recipe for summer days when you want your fiber but don't want a hot bowl of cereal.
In a bowl mix together oats, milk, raisins, cinnamon. Cover and place in fridge overnight. Enjoy the next morning.
A thick cut oat that soaks up all the milk may be preferable to other varieties, and you may find you need to experiment with different amounts of milk.

I use Old-Fashioned oats and find that it takes no time to soften them. I made it overnight once and it was mush. Now I make it in the morning and it works out really well. Sometimes I add a bit of honey, most times I also add walnuts or pecans. Thanks for posting and sharing this easy meal! - 8/3/09

I have been eating this every morning now, its great! Especially with cut up banana. The calorie content is actually much lower - if you compare the SP nutrition information for oats to that listed on the Quaker Oats container, SP thinks oats have twice the calories that they actually do! - 4/19/08

Like others, I was a little skeptical -- but made this last night with lowfat yogurt, 1/2 C. frozen mixed berries, and 1/2 C. Old Fashioned Oats. I enjoyed it LOTS this morning -- will probably do it often! May be a good one to try with grandkids, who are coming later this week, too! - 8/3/09
