Slow-Cooker Applesauce

Ingredients
Apples (4 medium-sized)Brown Sugar (1/4 cup)Cinnamon (1 tsp, ground)Nutmeg (1 tsp, ground)Water (1/4 cup)
Directions
Peel apples, then cut using an apple corer
Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and water in slow-cooker
Add apples, stir, and cover
Turn cooker on high and cook for 1 1/2 to 2 hours
Stir well, breaking up the apples
Cover, reduce heat to low and continue cooking for 1 1/2 to 2 hours
Let cool and serve warm, or store in fridge to serve cold

    I've been making this recipe for ages and it's really good. I tend to double the amount of apples without increasing the amount of sugar and it tastes sweet to me. You can also substitute Splenda for the brown sugar. - 12/6/09
