you could omit the salt, the soya and lemon are enough for that salty taste - 5/3/09

I prefer to use Aromat or veggie salt.
Could not find it so added salt and soya instead.
The salt draws the flavour out.

I used balsamic vinegar, it's what I had on hand. We really enjoyed this, though I think I will do the dressing ahead of time to allow the caraway seed flavor a chance to steep, and I may get some malt vinegar. - 5/16/12

This was good-- I left out the soy entirely so it would complement our brats & mashed potatoes better. - 10/3/09

This was excellent. I used balsamic vinegar which turned it a little dark, but tasted great. I didn't think it was too salty, but I like salt!!! I also used a whole head of cabbage. It was a small head. - 5/3/09

I usually use malt vinegar brown or white.
Not mentioned on the ingredient list.
Aromat or veggie salt instead of salt.
It is lovely and tasty isnt it?
    Thanks
