Homemade Low-Fat Tropical Granola

Granola Mix:3 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats3 tbsp ground flax seed1/2 cup chopped pecans (you can also use almonds or walnuts)1/4 cup maple syrup1 tbsp brown sugar1/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce1 tbsp vegetable oil (I used Grapeseed Oil)1 tsp cinnamon1 tsp vanilla extract1/2 tsp saltDried Tropical Fruit Mix:~ 1/4 c Pineapple, chopped~ 1/2 c Mango, chopped5 Medjool Dates, chopped(Use about 1 cup dried fruit of your choice. I also suggest raisins, cranberries, blueberries, strawberries, banana chips, coconut, papaya)
Preheat the oven to 325°F. Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
In a large bowl, mix together all the ingredients for the granola using two large spoons. To create clusters, use your hands to squeeze the mixture together.
Spread the granola mix onto the prepared sheet pan in one layer. Toast in the oven at 325°F for 25 minutes until the granola is crisp and brown. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan.
Mix in the dried tropical fruits. Store in airtight jars for up to two weeks.
