LeOra's Jello Popcorn Balls

Ingredients
1 c sugar1 c karo syrup1 pkg (3oz) jello gelatin (any flavor)Roasting pan filled with airpopped popcorn (estimate: about 30 cups popped)
Directions
Dissolve the sugar, syrup and gelatin on the stove over medium heat and bring to a gentle boil. Don't boil very long, 30 seconds should be about right. Add a small splash of water to keep the mixture a good consistancy

    Replacing 1 cup of sugar with .5 cup of Splenda blend would save over 400 calories in the whole recipe (or 40+ calories/ball) and using sugar-free jello would save over 350 calories total and 35+ per ball, putting each ball at just over 200 calories each! Yum! - 11/23/09
