Ingredients

1.1 tablespoon extra light olive oil 2.1 teaspoon cumin seeds 3.1 teaspoon minced garlic 4.1 teaspoon ginger paste 5.2 medium potatoes, cubed 6.1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric 7.1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder8.1 teaspoon ground cumin 9.1/2 teaspoon garam masala 10. salt 11.1 lb cauliflower 12.1 teaspoon chopped fresh cilantro
1.Heat the oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Stir in the cumin seeds, garlic and ginger paste. Cook about 1 minute until garlic is lightly browned.
2.Add the potatoes. Season with turmeric, paprika, cumin, garam masala and sale. Cover and continue cooking 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3.Mix the cauliflower and cilantro into the saucepan. Reduce heat to low and cover. Stirring occasionally, continue cooking 10 minutes, or until potatoes and cauliflower are tender.
4. Serve with boiled rice or roti.

This is just like the traditional alo gobi as my Punjabi friends prepared.....no chicken broth as in one of the recipes found here, thanks:-) I do not use garlic....just ginger
