we did enjoy this recipe. However, we are not spicy food people. I didn't realize how spicy ro*tel was so next time we will use just diced tomatoes. But my family did say there would be a next time(lol). Thank you for the wonderful recipe - 9/7/09

I'm sure it would be great with either plain or cilantro & onion diced tomatoes.
    Sorry, too spicy :(

I am soo glad. You're right about the chicken or any kind of meat for that matter. I like this recipe because it's a pretty much "use what ya got" recipe :) Oh , my calorie count is actually lower because we never use all the gravy. I'll post a chicken breast recipe kind of similar to this later

This is a simple and healthy recipe that I really enjoy. I've made it on a few occasions and it has turned out great every time. If you don't have canned tomatoes and chiles, a good replacement is an equal amount of salsa. with a couple extra tbsps of water. - 5/13/17

I did substitute diced tomatoes for the rotel as we don't care for anything spicy but it turned out just fine. Steak was tender & sauce was good over rice. - 10/4/13

This was good, although I think it's lacking something - not sure what- but needs more flavor. I'm thinking that I may want to try this recipe again and add some chili powder or cumin or something for more flavor. Simple to fix, a quick weeknight meal for the family. - 7/30/12

This was great! I have made pepper steak before but never thought of using Rotel. I am not a "spicy" lover either to I used the mild rotel, it adds the flavor with out the heat. Great thanks! - 7/28/12

I really enjoyed how spicy this dish was. I served with with a Spanish rice and beans and tortilla chips. My family loved it. I didn't change anything in the recipe. Will be making this again! - 7/1/12
