If you're worried about excess liquid or sodium in this recipe try this: 1) instead of cooking chicken in wing sauce, cover in water with a a few tsp of vinegar in crockpot, 2) dump water, shred chicken and add wing sauce or hotsauce+butter or oil to taste. I serve with romaine as a wrap. Delish. - 2/1/10

This is my boyfriends favorite recipe! I shred the chicken and eat it on flour tortillas with lettuce and fat free ranch. Easy to make and really tasty if you like spicy food. I use Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Sauce. The sauce you use will make all the difference with this recipe. - 4/3/11

We love hot wings, but hate the calories. My husband and I loved this recipe. It was like eating hot wings, but not feeling guilty later. - 1/18/10

I used Ashanti's wing sauce, which has a lot less calories and sodium than other brands. It was delish! We made wraps with La Tortilla Factory tortillas, 1 tbsp Marie's Light Blue Cheese dressing, and spinach. Yum! - 10/3/09

Delish!!! There were only 2 brands of buffalo wing sauce at the store; I bought the one with signifantly less sodium. It pays to read labels!!! - 1/28/14

Can anyone give advice on this recipe? There are no liquids, and the little that came out of the chicken evaporated, so it all dried out and burned in less than six hours, even on the low setting. ?? What could I have done wrong? - 10/15/13

I gave this rating instead of higher, only because it was too vinegary for me. That comes strictly from the sauce I used (Franks). Next time we will use a teriyaki sauce if we can find one that isn't too unhealthy. - 7/14/13

Thanks for the recipe. I'm trying right now. I put about 30 oz. of frozen ckn. in with 1 T ranch powder and 1 C hot sauce on top. I'll see how it turns out. I usually put some 1/3 less fat cream cheese in afterwards. Man, my mouth is watering as I type. I'll let you know! - 9/25/12

I didn't care for this at all and threw out all the leftovers after a few days of no one eating off of them. It may have been the low sodium sauce I used so I will try it one more time using a regular sauce. - 12/5/11

i'm going to try this... i'd like to eat it "stuffed" into a baked potato and sprinkle a tablespoon on bleu cheese on top.
and it does sound amazing, but i might cook the chicken and then add the seasonings to taste to save on sodium.. thanks for the great idea - 6/21/11

Awesome!!! First day we made spinach and herb wraps, we then used leftovers in quesadillas!!! - 6/17/10

I thought this was good. I didn't shred it after it was done and put it back in the pot like it said. I instead took it out, shredded and then used the remaining liquid just as drizzle. I'll make it again and have leftovers for lunch! - 4/6/10

This is most excellent-really satisfies the craving for those deep-fried restaurant wings, too. I've always used Louisiana Hot Sauce for wings, so I used it in this recipe. Awesome recipe! - 12/13/18

I actually made this with chicken breasts and put it in the freezer, about a month later I cooked it in the crockpot and it was delicious. I actually at it in numerous ways: a baked potato topping, a wrap, a lettuce wrap, a salad topping, and with crackers versus bread. - 8/3/17

Am I missing something? It says add butter, but there's nothing about butter OR how much too add. - 2/15/16

Served with lettuce and a slice of white american cheese on a wheat tortilla. So good! - 6/5/15

This was AMAZING!! We put it on top of potatoes and added a bit more sauce for a kick. Hubby even used blue cheese dressing to top it off! He loved it so much that he asked for it to be put in our monthly rotation! - 2/24/15

This was a huge success in my house! Everyone - even the super picky teenager - loved it! I used it to top baked potatoes. I've been told that we definitely we need to have this again. - 10/9/14
