i have made muffins with this recipe. it helps me to portion better. Just take the end batter and put into 24 muffins cups, with liner to save more calories. Bake for 30-35, if using liners i just sprinkle sugar/cinnamon on top. - 3/2/09

What you can do - is at day 9 put the starter bag and all in the freezer. When you are ready for "day 10" , remove and let it get to room temperature and then resume with the "day 10" instructions. It has worked very well for me! - 7/26/08

this bread is a lot of work. but you can reduce the calorie count during the baking of the breadd. you can use 1/2 c. applesause,1/2c. oil, and splinda for the 1c. sugar. I also used nofat milk. i have make this for years. - 6/5/11

I love this recipe! I have actually been working with it for few months now... Been improvinsing. When baking my loaves I added a can of coconut milk instead of milk, a 1/3 cup of grated coconut and then sprinkled some on top poured it into a 9X13 pan and baked it per usual a real big hit at work - 10/25/09

I have made many and love it. I have used sugar free pudding and splenda and cut down the oil and added applesauce. I have made it with lemon pudding and poppy seeds. All have been a hit. - 4/1/11

I got this in time for st paddy's day and tried it with green food colouring. I would advise against doing this as I used many drops and it wasn't quite green enough to look good. - 3/23/11

I just received this recipe from a friend last week. I made mine today. It was amazing. However the recipe I received said to use 1/2 tsp of baking powder where this recipe said to use 1 1/2 tsp. this recipe is exactly the same other than that. Any insight? Also can starters be freezed? - 12/28/10

Love it! I added pecans for extra crunch. Also used the muffin tin idea. Freezing the starters is a good idea when you run out of friends to give them to! lol... give them a break and bring it out again later! - 7/7/09

I received this friendship bread many years ago at work. This is a recipe that keeps on giving. You should pass on the three extra bags of bead to a friend or someone you want to be a friend. Then they have a recipe that never ends. This recipe is go good your kids and family can't wait. - 7/29/07

Love Love Love this bread. I've had it before and have been dying to make it since then. So glad I came across this recipe. Very easy to make too! Seems like it is complicated because of the whole starter process, but it really isn't. You just have to wait a little while, but it is worth it. - 7/24/07
