5 links turkey Italian sausage - cut into bite sized pieces1 can DelMonte Diced Tomatoes (no salt added) 1 can2 small onions, sliced thin2 Small Green Bell Peppers sliced thin1 Small Red Bell Peppers sliced thin3 Plum Tomatoes Olive Oil, 1 tbsp Garlic, 1 tsp Basil, 1 tbsp Oregano, ground, 1 tbsp Pepper, black, .5 tbsp2 tsp Tomato Paste
heat oil in large sauce pan
add garlic, pepper, basil and oregano
add sliced turkey sausage
when sausage is browned, add onions & peppers
when onions & peppers have softened, add sliced tomatoes
add can of crushed tomatoes and tomato paste, let simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes.
Serve over whole grain pasta (nutritional information for sauce only).
Makes about 6 1-cup servings.
