Appreciate comments i.e. boil to prevent crispy- simmer in skillet on stove about 40 min- put less in each roll- spice it- red pepper flakes, garlic, mushrooms - soy or Italian sauce- a little cheese... but my most favorite tip-
ALIJERSEY- layer in crock pot and slow cook for 8 hrs on low. - 1/27/09

These were great! Things I will change for next time: boil rather than bake, they got crispy. Put less in each roll, they were INCREDIBLY thick. Add more flavoring, maybe spices. I didn't use the pasta sauce, I used soy sauce instead and it was delicioius! - 11/10/08

So fantastic that my whole family ate it! Instead of baking, I layered it in a crock pot and slow cooked it for 8 hours on low. I will be sure to make this again. - 7/24/08

I did like this. I added a little cheese on top at the end. However next time Iwould add red pepper flakes to the stuffing to give it a bit of a bite. - 4/4/08

This is a great recipe.I've made this often, although I only boil the cored cabbage for 10min and let it cool covered. Prevents leaves falling apart and tearing.I tried freezing it b4 and it didn't work as well.I don't add green peppers, but I add ketchup & only 1cup rice.Make meatballs w/leftover - 3/10/11

My wife likes anything with cabbage and she really liked this recipe. I added some extra veggies and seasonings to adjust the recipe to our taste and I think it turned out great. Good recipe that will be added to one of my cook books. - 3/10/10

I haven't figured out how my Mom made cabbage rolls but this is the closest yet and Hey we used Pasta sauce. She probably made it with home made Italian sauce. Friends and Family loved it! And it's low calorie! - 12/28/07

don't cook the cabage for 45 min. the author left out the "OR" in 4 or 5 min - 8/1/13

So what is the 'sauce' in this recipe? Not enough information. I made my own sauce from tomatoes, carrot, onion, and celery chopped, broth added....now that accompanies this recipe well. - 4/13/11
