Sesame-Orange Shrimp

Ingredients
3 Tablespoons sesame seeds2 large egg whites1/4 cup cornstarch1/4 teaspoon salt1/4 teaspoon black pepper1 pound peeled and deveined raw shrimp 21-25 per pound2 tablespoons canola oil, divided3/4 cup orange juice1/4 cup dry sherry2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce1 teaspoon sugar1 scallion, thinly sliced
Directions
1. Whisk sesame seeds, egg whites, cornstarch, s&p in large bowl.
2. Add shrimp-toss to coat
3.Heat 1 tblsp oil in large non stick skillet. Add 1/2 shrimp and cook until golden-1 to 2 min. per side transfer to paper towel and repeat with remaining oil and shrimp
4. Add oj, sherry, soy sauce and sugar to pan. Bring to a boil stirring occasionally until slightly thickened and reduced by 1/2. 4 to 6 min,
5. Return shrimp to pan and stir to coat/serve immediately. Make 4 servings

    Delicious. Read the recipe carefully though BEFORE you start cooking. We didn't and the egg whites went flat before we got it in the pan. It was delicious but due to our cooking mistake - not so appealilng looking. - 9/3/12
