2 1/2 lbs ground beef-lean1 medium onion3 cloves garlic, minced1 1/4 cups catsup1 medium green sweet pepper, chopped2 stalks celery, chopped1/3 cup of water3 tablespoons brown sugar3 tablespoons prepared mustard3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce1 tablespoon chili powder16 to 20 hamburger buns, split and toasted
1. In a large skillet cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until meat is brwon and onion is tender. Drain off fat
2. In a 3 1/2 to 4 quart slow cooker combine catsup, sweet pepper, celery, water, brown sugar, mustard, vinegar Worcestershire sauce and chili powder, stir in meat mixture.
3. Cover and cook on low heat setting for 6 to 8 hours or on high heat setting for 3 to 4 hours. Spoon on toasted buns.
