Ingredients
1 stick margarine/butter3 cups flour1 tsp salt2 T sugar1 T baking powder1 cup milk (nonfat) (may need more)
Directions
Place margarine/butter in a 9x13 pan and put in the oven at 350 while the oven pre-heats. Meanwhile, mix together dry ingredients, then add milk. If dough is too dry, add more milk. When soft dough forms, knead briefly, then roll out to about 9x13 rectangle. The dough needs to be soft enough to roll, but firm enough to hold together.

Carefully remove pan from oven and put dough in melted butter. Cut into 12 sticks, then cut one long line down the middle (24 short sticks total). Bake for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

Makes 8 servings of 3 sticks each.

I had a hard time rolling these out-maybe I will add a little more milk next time. I also had to bake them for another ten minutes because they were still doughy. Very good and rather addicting. I added about a teaspoon of garlic powder because I LOVE garlic. :)

I'm glad you liked them! Yes, we had to increase milk from the original recipe, too. Really, you want the dough to be similar to biscuit dough - soft, but not sticky.

Good - kind of biscuity but pretty tasty. The large amount of butter can be cut down a bit, I think - I will try that next time. I ended up using 1-1/2 cups of milk, and mine rolled out very easily and cut well in the pan. - 7/18/14
