Beef Taco Soup

1/2 lb ground beef1 medium onion, chopped1 can diced tomatoes2 cans hominy, or 1 can hominy + 1 can sweet corn1 small can diced green chiles1 can kidney beans or black beans1 can pinto beans or ranch style beans1 pkg taco seasoning1 pkg ranch dressing mix1 cup water
In a large pot, cook the onion and ground beef on medium heat until beef is browned. Drain the meat. Add all other ingredients (do not drain cans), and bring to a boil. Turn heat down to low and simmer for 45 minutes. Serve with light sour cream and low fat cheddar or colby cheese, tortilla chips, and/or chives.
