Meatballs in Tomato Sauce

For the meatballs:200g lean beef steak mince1 tsp basil1 tsp oreganoSalt & pepper, to tasteFor the tomato sauce:2 x 400g tinned chopped tomatoes1 medium onion, chopped2 cloves garlic, crushed1 tsp oregano1 tsp basilBlack pepper, to taste
Put the minced beef in a large bowl.
Add the herbs and seasoning and mix well.
Shape the mixture into 8 meatballs and set aside.
For the sauce, chop the onion and saute with the garlic over a low heat for 2-3 minutes.
Add the tomatoes, herbs and seasoning and bring to a simmer.
Drop the meatballs carefully into the sauce, cover with a lid and simmer gently for 45 minutes.
Serve with spaghetti or your favourite pasta.
