Introduction

this is my own seasoning blend for making taco's or fajita's...I always have these spices naturally on hand.. and will NEVER go back to store bought. this is my own seasoning blend for making taco's or fajita's...I always have these spices naturally on hand.. and will NEVER go back to store bought.

Ingredients

    Chili powder, 1 tbsp
    ground cumin, .33 tbsp
    *Black Pepper (Ground), 1.0 tsp
    *Dried Oregano, 0.5 tsp
    Paprika, 0.5 tsp
    Garlic powder, 0.5 tsp
    *Onion powder, 1 tsp
    Pepper, red or cayenne, 0.25 tsp
    No Salt, sodium free salt alternative 1.0 tsp

Directions

Mix all seasonings together... For Fajita's add toyour own oil/vinegar blend to marinate before frilling...

For taco's ... and to meat along with either i 4 oz can tomato paste or 1/4 cup chicken stock or water.

If it's too spicy... omitt cayenne pepper.

FOR PEOPLE WHO DO NOT HAVE TO WATCH THERE SODIUM INTAKE.. ADD 1 TSP KOSHER SALT.


This will replace one whole taco or Fajita seasoning packet you would buy in the store. :)

    I used this mixture to marinate chicken breasts inside a ziplock bag, then baked in the oven on a sheet pan @350 until cooked through, I turned over 1x and cut into strips after baking. If you want low sodium, this delivers lots of tex-mex flavor without the salt. - 10/30/12
