Killer Spaghetti

1 Lb of ground beef1 Table spoon of butter1 box of Linguine1 Cup of Jimmy Deans Original Sausage Links Chopped1 large onion chopped 1 Table spoon of Olive OilSalt1/2 cup of green pepper chopped2 Table spoons of Laury's Seasoning Salt1 1/2 Table spoon of crushed red pepper2 table spoons of garlic powderYour favorite glass jar of pasta sauce (not canned)Parmesan Cheese (for topping)
Makes about 8 servings
1) Melt butter in a deep fry pan on medium heat
2) Add chopped onion and green pepper to fry pan
3) Cook for about 8 minutes
4) Add ground beef and sausage to vegetable mixture and cook on medium heat until brown- no longer pink. While beef is cooking, break up meat with your spoon until in small chunks (about pea sized). Stir beef mixture occasionally. Drain meat mixture when no longer pink and return to pan
5) Pour jar of pasta sauce, seasoning salt, crushed red pepper, and garlic, into meat mixture. Stir until mixed. Let simmer while you make your pasta. but stirring occasionally.
6) Make Linguine according to box instructions
7)) Add a dash of salt to water
8) When you drain your pasta return to pot and add
1 table spoon of olive oil to pasta. Stir until well coated.
Serving Instructions:
Serve meat sauce on top of pasta with a dash of Parmesan cheese
Serves well with Garlic Bread and a side salad

I would not add olive oil or any kind of oil to the pasta. From what I've read about making spaghetti, the sauce will not cling to the noodles if there is oil on them. You should not rinse the noodles with water after cooking either - 4/27/10

Yes you're right I don't rinse with water. The little amount of oil was just to keep the pasta from sticking, but you can omit the olive oil.

The best way to keep pasta from sticking is to bring it back to the boil as rapidly as possible and stir it. Oil doesn't really help. It kind of floats there. I have made something similar with Italian turkey sausage. If you can find it, Newman's Own Sock-o-rooni Pasta sauce cuts the work in half. - 4/29/10
