Beef Chow Mein

1 tbsp olive oil6 oz top sirloin beef, cut into strips 2 cups fresh cabbage, shredded 1 medium onion, sliced1-1/2 tsp garlic3 stalks celery4 green onions, trimmed to 6" long, chopped 2 servings thin Shanghi noodles3 tbsp soy sauce
Heat oil in large frying pan or wok.
Brown beef.
Add celery, onion and garlic - cook until onions are clear.
Add green onion and cabbage - cook until cabbage is limp.
Add noodles and soy sauce.
Cook until warm through.

When you want chow mein, skip take-out & try this recipe. Pretty easy to cook & tastes just right. I sliced the beef mostly frozen, much easier. Also added Hoisin, Thai Hot Sauce & red pepper flakes. Good recipe with lots of options; peapods, mushrooms, shredded carrots. Yum! Thanks for sharing! =) - 4/19/12

This recipe is delish! Next time I will try making it with thinly slice baby bok-choy which is one kind of Chinese cabbage and great for stir fry! We love all kinds of cabbage here even just stirfried with garlic in a little olive oil so this recipe was a winner with dh & son from the start! Thanks! - 1/24/12
