(1)
  • Number of Servings: 2
Ingredients
* Pork loin (chops), 12 oz * Olive Oil, .5 1tsp * Garlic powder, .25 tsp * Rosemary, dried, 0.25 tsp * Pepper, black, 2 dash * Sea Salt, 0.25 tsp * Water, tap, 1 cup (8 fl oz) * Applesauce, unsweetened, 1 cup (remove) * Butter, unsalted, 2 tbsp (remove)
Directions
Use spices to season two 1 inch pork chops (about 6 oz each) and sear/quickly brown in olive oil in a deep skillet. Add water and applesauce (should be about 1/2 inch in the pan) cover and simmer for 6-7 minutes. Remove cover and test pork chops for doneness (about 140 on a meat thermometer or to your liking). Once meat is cooked remove from pan and raise heat to medium high. Reduce liquid by about half and stir in butter. Cook for one to two minutes more or until sauce is close to applesauce consistency. Pour sauce over chops.
Please note this recipe is calculated for 2 huge restaurant or man size portions. I only have half a serving and save the other half for lunch. Great with curried rice and cauliflower.
