Ingredients
  • 1/2 lb. lean ground turkey
  • 1 bell pepper, seeded and thinly sliced

  • 2 cups uncooked whole wheat pasta

Just a note to let everyone know after reading all the postings. Walmart sells 1lb rolls of italian seasoned ground turkey and also taco seasoned turkey that are really good and cheaper then the regular rolls of ground turkey. It alleviates having to put in some of the other seasonings - 7/31/09

I added garlic and minced onion while browning the ground turkey, and basil and oregano once I added the crushed tomatoes. I'm thinking zucchini and mushrooms might be an alternative to cauliflower and broccoli that would meld better with the other flavors. - 10/29/08

I made this tonight and it was very good. I added a few more Italian spices, used chicken broth and extra lean ground veal because that's' what I had on hand. The rest of the family liked it too. It was easy and tasty, I would make it again. - 1/24/09

Yum! I used low-sodium chicken broth and low-sodium diced tomatoes, and added garlic, onions, basil, and zucchini to the recipe. I think as is it would be pretty bland, but it's a great starting point and super easy to jazz up! - 1/23/08

I thought this was wonderful! It made so much more than I was expecting for some reason. I hope a cup was a serving. That's what I ate. There still was a ton left! I'd like to try it again with chicken and chicken broth. Bet it would be great that way too! - 1/31/09

We liked this, but as others have commented, thought it needed garlic. It is a great one-dish meal and could easily be adapted to suit a family's tastes by using different vegetables and/or spices. We'll definitely make this again. - 1/23/08

This was very easy to make and tasted great, served with a garden salad. My husband even had seconds, and he is not a pasta lover. - 3/7/09

We made this replacing Firm Tofu for the ground turkey. After squeezing out the tofu with placed it in a pan with 2 tablespoons olive oil, the spices, 1/4 tsp oregeno, 1/4 basil and browned the tofu. It was the best. 1/2 Tsp salt because turkey has a salt content. - 2/14/09

I added garlic to the ground turkey as it was browning. I didn't have crushed tomatoes. I added 1 can of diced tomatoes with juice along with 1 can of tomatoe soup. Also I didn't have vegetable broth so I used chicken stock. We sprinkled part skim mozzerella on top and it was a big hit! - 7/28/08

just suggestions. If you don't like whole wheat pasta try whole grain.Add favorite herbs.Try smoked paprika.Chipolte powder adds a little smokey zing.
Emeril's Turkey rub is a fine ground, blend of spices that I highly recomemd for all poultry dishes.what a nice find this product was....Chef Jim - 10/27/08

We made this last night. We did the cauliflower and broccoli on the side, but added onion, garlic powder, more tomatoes, and some herbs. All liked it, my picky son ate 2 portions. Couldn't tell the pasta was whole wheat, it soaked up all the fluid! - 9/6/08
