4 Cups Kale Leaves1 cucumber4 Celery Stalks2 Green Apples-seeds removed1/2 Lemon-peeled1 Inch piece of Ginger (or less to start)

Juice all but the kale. I juice it last because it tends to clog up my Champion juicer. I may try juicing all but the kale and finish the juice in the Vitamix.

Wow - just made the first glass. Have to say, I'm a sugar addict so it will take a taste bud adjustment, but not bad. I think I'll add a mango to it. any other ideas? - 4/10/12

Yes... you can use sweet apples or some sweet grapes. Might help at first till your taste buds adjust! Or try http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-deta

Do you peel the lemon and how big is a "piece" of ginger? I am really excited to start juicing! Thank you for your help :-) - 2/19/13

Hi CJIBrown, I do peel the lemon and I use about 1 inch of ginger. The ginger is strong, so you might try less and experiment to find your preference.

I discovered that spinach like kale will clog my Omega juicer. However my trick is to juice something like a carrot or celery last and the pulp will push out most of the spinach or kale. - 8/5/12

This was good. Something different. I liked that I wasn't paying for it at some store. - 8/13/19

You cannot take the values of each ingredient and add it together and use that for the juice. From the Joe Cross site here is what they give for the nutrition: for a 16-20 oz serving, 125 calories, .5g fat, 64mg sodium, 1g fiber, 15g surgars, 3g protein. With that said this is a very good juice. - 1/15/16

Thanks MSECREST, this will be helpful! I don't think I can change the Spark stats, as they are automatic. I was able to update your info in the introduction area.

    Hi
Is the sodium content correct as it seems very high at 270mg. I made one yesterday but had no kale so used baby spinach instead. It tasted very salty today and assumed it was just the celery, didn't realise it would contain so much sodium - 8/1/13

    Reply from INUNISON (8/1/13)
Hi Chris, Not sure about the sodium as it's calculated by spark. This is juice and the calculations are for the whole veggies.

The nutritional info is way off. Who posted this stuff with this level of misinformation? I was wondering if maybe it could be changed for the benefit of those who might go around telling people how much fiber this drink DOESN'T really have. Someone may end up embarrassing themselves.

Hey Jena, I don't have anything to do with the stats.... it's calculated by Spark, I just enter the produce. If you know how to fix this problem, please let me know so I can update the stats! I warned about this in my introduction.

I love this recipe. My 5 year old son has started drinking these juices with me. He does it with a smile and cheerful disposition (green with this one), makes me smile too, knowing he is getting MORE vitamins and minerals than with his regular diet alone. Thank you for sharing. - 4/13/13

Love this juice. I usually juice the kale before the cucumber to get the most out of it. I also prefer to peel the lemon as the juice is less bitter. - 3/28/13

Can I use a blender for this recipe? since I do not own a juicer, but would like to try this recipe. - 2/5/13

    Reply from INUNISON (2/5/13)
I have tried it in a blender, but it doesn't work very well. You have to add water to get it smooth enough, and might need a high power blender also. I have made it both ways and love it juiced. Others have liked it blended though... it's just my preference.

I sometimes add parsley and lemon to this juice. I use my vitamix to blend it. Then I either drink it as is or strain it through a mesh nutbag. Very good. Thanks for sharing! - 6/29/12

    Reply from INUNISON (6/30/12)
Parsley sounds good too! I will have to try that. I have used my vitamix too... without much luck, the straining it is a good idea, thanks!

FYI, this is completely wrong. When you juice, you remove the fiber content of the food, there is not a chance there is 26 grams of fiber in a serving, let alone that many calories or that much fat. Do the research. - 6/15/12

Hi HONEYINNYC... there is no other way to calculate a juice with the recipe calculator. Sorry you thought it was sooooooooo BAD! There are many recipes on Spark, maybe you will find some that make your taste buds happy.
