Ginger snap cookies

Ingredients
2 ¼c all purpose flour½ t ground cloves½ t ground ginger1t cinnamon2t baking soda½ t salt¾ c (1 ½ sticks) unsalted butter, softened1c sugar¼ c dark molasses1 large egg
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°. Sift dry ingredients together in bowl. Set aside. In a large bowl, mix butter and sugar until light and creamy. Stir in molasses and egg. Add dry ingredients to wet mixture. Mix well. Stir in crystallized ginger chips. For gest results, chill dough for one hour. Form 1-inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Place on a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake 8-10 minutes. Remove while still soft. Let cookies cool on sheet before removing.
