Ingredients
1 vanilla cake 1 cup fresh strawberries, crushed1 container vanilla frosting (or equivalent homemade) 1 package cake pop sticks1 (16-ounce) package yellow melting chocolate 1 serving yellow fondant, such as Wilton Ready-to-Use Rolled Fondant, cut into tiny triangles (to resemble chick wings--you'll need 96 total)1 serving orange fondant, cut to resemble beaks and feet (you'll need 48 of each) black gel icing
Directions
Make or buy a vanilla sheet cake. Crumble the fully cooled cake into a large bowl, then add the strawberries and vanilla frosting. Mash until the strawberries and frosting are fully incorporated and the mixture can be rolled into a ball.
Roll into 48 balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Freeze for one hour.
Microwave the yellow melting chocolate chips in a large bowl, removing from the microwave when the chocolate is about 75% melted.
Remove the cake pops from the freezer and insert a stick sideways into each one, then dip each cake pop into the melted chocolate. Quickly attach two bits of yellow fondant on each side to resemble wings, a piece of orange fondant for the beak and two pieces of orange fondant on bottom for the feet.
Place them back on the parchment paper to dry, then add dabs of black gel icing for the eyes.

1 cake pop, which is less than a mouthful, is 171 calories, full of fat and artificial colors & flavors! I'd rather have a piece of chocolate instead. - 4/17/14

Cute idea but be sure to use homemade frosting because those tubs of frosting have a lot of trans fats. - 4/17/14

These are so much fun, but I already know that I could not just eat one, so I will avoid making them for when my grandkids aren't here! - 4/17/14
