  • Number of Servings: 4
Ingredients
-4 scoops chocolate protein powder-2/3 cup flax seed meal-4 tbsp natural peanut butter-1/4 cup water-stevia or natural sweetener (optional)-2 tbspn coca powder (optional)
Directions
-makes 4 servings

-mix all ingredients in a large bowl and stir. At first it may not seem like it is enough water, but keep stirring and it will eventually become a sticky blob of dough. Add 1 tbsp of water at a time if needed.

-divide mixture into 4 equal portions and place in separate pieces of plastic wrap placing them into bars. It's easier to shape them by lying plastic wrap on one side of a small casserole dish, pressing the dough into the natural shape of the dish.

-store the bars in fridge or freezer. Once solid, enjoy.

Love this! I used oats instead of the Flaxseed meal and added some honey, half vanilla and half chocolate protein powder...it sounded like it wouldn't taste that great but was I surprised! It's delicious!!! Can't wait for it to set so I can have my first one - 1/30/13

I added splenda and some dried cherries. They are still a bland stick of goo. Maybe I added too much water or should put them in the freezer instead of fridge. I'm just really having a hard time finishing this first bar. I don't eat health food bars at all, so maybe this is an aquired taste. - 4/6/10

I loved this. I read the comments and I only need the 1/4 cup of water and it's NOT oily at all. I might add some oatmeal next time to give it a bit more texture. I will definitely be making this all the time and keeping it in the house. Thanks for the awesome recipe! - 8/10/09

This is easy to make and tastes great. Much cheaper than buying the ones in the stores. Although the nutritional value was slightly off based on my own ingredients, they were still high protein and low carb. - 7/16/12

Great recipe. I used Choc Egg white protein powder because I don't digest dairy well. I added a few Amberlyn choc pieces instead of cocoa powder. Great hi-protein, lo-carb, hi-fiber bar! Thanks so much for posting! - 6/19/11

Pretty good! Great snack for after the gym. I added 2 tsp of brown sugar/splenda blend and oats so I had to use 1/4 c more water. I also used Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Powder and molded them in waxed paper instead of saran wrap.

    Thx 4 sharing! - 1/7/11

My 3 year old daughter and I just made these and they are great! They are so much better than store bought protein bars! We added some Bear Naked Banana Walnut Cereal to the mix. Thanks for sharing your recipe, they will be a great snack after the gym! - 1/6/11

I'm definitely going to try this. Some powders seem to absorb water differently. I will start with a little then gradually add more. Thanks, it looks really good! - 4/24/09

Yuck! The only reason I gave this recipe 2 stars was because it was super easy to make and I guess if you REALLY like peanut butter then this is edible. But for me who only kind of likes PB it was not a hit. It's basically portable PB held together with powder. It was sooo oily too, I was horrified. - 11/3/08

what the heck did you use to make it oily? there's no oily in it. it is for peanut butter lovers but you probably used bad ingredients

Really good! However, the water was over 1 cup instead of 1/4th cup. - 10/25/08
