Where I come from (the Ashkenazim), LOX is raw salmon; NOVA is smoked salmon. Big difference in both taste and storage! - 12/30/15

I used 0% Greek Yogurt, then added Dill and loads of black pepper, which beefed up the flavour without adding calories-I loved it, so thanks for the basic recipe. - 10/19/10

This recipe was easy to make. I liked it but the taste was very strong. Use sparingly on a cracker. I will likely remake this recipe. - 1/3/09

200 grams smoked salmon trimmings and 100grams of lofat cream cheese. You can vary the amount of cream cheese to get the consistency you like. If you use 0% Greek yoghhurt or reduced fat Creme Fraiche you will need less as they are less thick to start with. They are good for making it as a dip.

Yes! You can use the leftovers to spread on your breakfast toast or bagel. I was not sure about the weight of the lox used in the recipe, but measured mine for sure when I made this. - 11/19/08
