Double Chocolate Cherry Chews

1 cup whole wheat flour1/4 cup cocoa powder1/2 tsp baking soda1/4 tsp salt1/2 stick unsalted butter, softened1/4 cup Country Crock spread1/2 cup sugar1/2 cup packed brown sugar1 egg1 tsp pure vanilla extract1 cup dried sweet cherries2/3 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Whisk together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl.
Place butter and CC spread in mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer, beat butter mixture until fluffy, about 1 minute. Blend in both sugars followed by eggs and vanilla. Add flour and mix until well blended. Fold in cherries, chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop onto greased baking sheet by tablespoonfuls spacing about 2 inches apart. Bake 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cookies cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
