Would have given 5 stars if my hubby had loved it, but he's fussy! I used dried beans and soaked overnight, but it worked out really great. - 7/6/09

Made this and left out the cinnamon and cocoa powder! Made it more Tex-Mex because this is the South!LOL It is a very good base for chili. Will try it again witout the beans to use on hotdogs! - 4/14/09

I normally like my chili spicier and douse it liberally with Cholula or Tabasco, but the fam prefers it mild, so it really does make a great base to add whatever lethal combination of peppers/sauces that suits your fancy.

SO GOOD EVEN MY ITALIAN HUSBAND LIKED IT, DEFINITLY WILL MAKE IT AGAIN. LIKE IT JUST AS MUCH AS TRIDITIONAL CHILI - 4/12/09

I think i would decrease the amount of cinnamon or cocoa as they are great but a bit overwhelming. But still - awesome chili! - 3/12/09

Note that those are each a teaspoon, not a tablespoon. The cinnamon is better with a stronger flavoured meat (such as bison).
