I have used this recipe for years but the instructions specifically state NOT to use DIET COKE!!! Heating up Nutrasweet or other artificial sweeteners is not recommended. Except for Splenda. - 1/16/09

This reciped was great. I was worried about heating NutraSweet, so I used Diet Rite Cola (Splenda), and it worked fine. I did add garlic and a bit of mustard powder to the sauce for a little more kick. I will surely make this again. - 1/24/09

Tastes great! I threw everything into my slow cooker and it turned out great with zero fuss! I added about 1/2 packet of dry onion soup mix for a little extra flavor. Very yummy! - 7/17/07

For anyone worried about the sodium count, simply use Diet Rite - it's sodium free. As for the sugar levels in ketchup, how about using Heinz Low Carb ketchup. Then add some of your own favorite seasonings. Also, why worry about the lack of fiber...it's a chicken recipe. Have it with crunchy veggies - 12/8/07

We were all pleasantly surprised by this dish at my house! Nice sweet sauce. Used Dr. Pepper, so it had an interesting little zing in the sauce. I didn't have high hopes, and my husband was very skeptical. An A+ surprise!! - 2/16/09

It was very good!! I loved the taste. I served it with brown rice and put some of the sauce on top of the rice. I also added some chopped green peppers and vidalia onions to the sauce at the beginning of the cooking time. Yummy!! - 8/12/08

You can use 4 breasts with this recipe and still have enough sauce. Shred for chicken barbeque, and sandwiches. Use pork and steak too!!! - 5/23/08

This is the first dish I've cooked in a long time that my picky mother complimented. Hubby and 5-year-old ate every bite. Added mustard powder, garlic powder, and half a packet of onion soup. Served with cheesy cornbread muffins and a green salad. Making it again for brother and sis-in-law Sunday. - 2/19/10

I was a bit leary of trying it, but I had no reason to be. This recipe is fantastic!! I will certainly be making this again. - 1/31/09

Oh my god this tastes sooo good :) I made it today using half ketchup half bbq sauce and it is just great! I used more chicken and added some vegies (carrot, peas and capsicum/red peppers) too. Yum! Made it for lunch and I'm eating leftovers for dinner now over rice. WIll def make it again :) - 8/8/08

Delicious! I found that I have to take the chicken out after it cooks through, then turn the heat up and whisk the sauce while it boils and thickens, then re-add the chicken just until warm, otherwise the chicken gets rubbery.
I plan to make it again this week and I am going to try Diet Dr Pepper. - 3/14/10

I thought it was ok, but my boyfriend and roommate loved it. I used diet cherry cola which gave it a nice, sweet taste. I also used organic ketchup which resulted in less sodium and less sugar. I also LOVED how easy this was! - 12/2/08

I like the idea of adding onion and pineapple and maybe even some diced apple! 080920 - 9/20/08

I love this recipe! It doesn't taste like diet cola at all. It's got a sweet saucy taste to it. Add a some chopped onions for a little more flavor. This one is a keeper! - 4/22/08

This is a good one. I use 1/2 cup catsup and 1/2 cup BBQ sauce. If you want to spice it up a bit add a tablespoon of crushed red pepper. - 2/19/08

I made this and it was very good! I used a 1/2 cup salsa, and a 1/2 ketchup with Diet Dr Pepper. I had a cup of brown rice with it and the BF had it with a baked potato. - 10/25/07

had the kids help with making it. They said they wouldn't eat it, but at dinnertime it was all gone. Served it with white rice and used some of the sauce to cover the rice. - 11/15/08

This may be easy, but the sodium is through the roof! Not a very healthy option, actually. - 6/17/08

Incredibly easy (good for those low energy days) and delicious! I used 1/2 cup regular ketchup and 1/2 cup garlic-ketchup (Heinz) and it was a big hit with my DH! - 10/30/08

My husband and I really liked this. I did 3/4 ketchup 1/4 bbq sauce ratio but next time my hubby wants to follow recipe and just use ketchup. I might try low sugar or a low sodium ketchup though. - 8/14/08

I made this today for lunch. The only change I made was adding Worcestershire sauce to cut the sweetness. I paired it with brocolli and Spanish rice. - 2/12/08

The chicken came out sooo tender. I added minced garlic to the sauce. My hubby loved. - 7/22/08
