3/4 cup water3 cups rolled oats1/2 cup sesame seeds1/2 cup almonds1/4 cup flax meal1/4 cup wheat germ1/4 cup oat bran1 Tbsp paprika2 tsp tumeric2 tsp oregano1 tsp onion powder3/4 tsp chili powder1/2 tsp garlic powder1/2 tsp black pepper1/8 tsp cayenne1/8 tsp dry mustard1/2 tsp salt
Makes 24 1-oz servings (1/4c)
Preheat oven to 250*F.
Combine grains, seeds, nuts and seasonings in large bowl. Mix well. Add water, mix well. Spread out in 2 large pans - broiler pans work well, or cookie sheets that have edges. Bake for 1 hr, stirring every 15 min. Turn oven off, leave in another 15 min. If not sufficiently dry and crispy, turn oven back on and continue to bake in 15 min increments. Cool and store in air-tight container.
