This is NOT a salt free recipe. Chicken Bouillon has 1100 mg sodium per cube! There may be sodium free bouillon available, but I've never looked, so I don't know about that. You can certainly make this without the bouillon as I am doing. - 3/14/10

?? It is not without salt -- chicken bullion is almost pure salt. - 10/10/11

You can also add salt to the mix, but it made me retain water like crazy. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I'ts my favorite spice blend.

Came out a tad sweet, but I didn't have the chipotle. It made a TON of seasoning, I quartered it and still had enough to season 4 servings plus fill a seasoning container for next time. - 10/24/12

This was a little on the sweet side for me (though I didn't have chipotle), but I will play with the levels of the spices. I'm very happy to have found a "base" to work with! :) Thanks! - 10/15/10

Glad to see herb-ox lists their ingredients and while they do not add the pure chemical MSG, they add other flavor enhancing ingredients designed to increase levels of free glutamate - the business end of MSG that can cause neuro damage in anyone if they get enough! see msgexposed.com for msg ingred - 9/17/10

When my bottle of store bought seasoning ran out I couldn't find anymore. Thank you for making this recipe available.
For those people who can't tolerate MSG you can get a jar of chicken 'base' instead.
My jar of Herb-Ox instant beef bouillon has no MSG in it. So, I assume that the chicken either. - 8/4/09

I just pretty much put some on, taste it and add more if I need to. I'm not one of the measuring types. LOL!
Wait, I just realized that spark recipes didn't put down the measurements I added. Give me just a minute and I will re-post the recipe in the ingredients section.
