Ingredients
2 packages of broccoli slaw (12 ounces each, usually). (Broccoli slaw looks like cole slaw - it's not florets and it's not chopped. It's small strips, with a bit of carrot and red cabbage in it. Also had this prepared by the poster. Two days later I had a sample of Broccoli Slaw at Trader Joe's (yes, you can buy the slaw in bags there, as well as most grocery stores - in the produce section). This recipe was far nicer than the TJs recipe. - 7/3/09

Wow! Delicious. 1/4 cup canola oil is more than enough, and balsamic vinegar is also yummy. This is a great summer side for a cook out. Have it with Cuban lime grilled chicken. Thanks for sharing the fantastic recipe! - 6/4/12

To make it 'lite', I cut the oil to 1/2 cup & changed out the sugar for Splenda - works great! Everybody loves it! White vinegar works, too. Also, Craisins, peppers, nuts, etc. are optional. You can add whatever you want. I like to make it a meal & add bacon bits! YUM!! 25 servings? NO WAY!! - 9/14/11

Yum. Received lots of compliments from guests. Best Broccoli Slaw they ever tasted. The toasted slivered almonds really set it off. - 9/4/11

My only critique is that ok, it makes 25 servings, but what size are those servings? After making it, I wasn't going to portion out that many mini servings - 6/7/11

Great alternative to heavier mayo-based slaw. I omitted the craisins, used Splenda in place of sugar and reduced the amount of oil. My family and I loved it. - 2/27/10

I forgot to get scallions when I went to the store, halfed the recipe and it was delicious!! My son loved it and said "mmm mommy". Great recipe! I have even added apples before and left out the almonds or the sunflower seeds, depending on what I have. Thanks for sharing! - 8/28/09

First2B -- It is not the florets. The slaw is made of shredded broccoli stalks. Someone was smart to think of a use for them since so much broccoli is now sold without the long stems. - 7/11/09
