Ingredients

    4 portions lean ground turkey (about 1 lb)
    1/4 tsp gr. black pepper
    1/2 red onion, chopped
    1 can (8oz) no-salt-added tomato sauce
    1/2 cup ketchup
    1/4 cup barbecue sauce
    1 tsp chili powder
    Dash of hot pepper sauce
    4 wheat buns or rolls, split
    4 lettuce leaves

Directions

1. in large skillet, combine gr. turkey , black pepper & onion. Cook over med. heat. stir occ until turkey is no longer pink.

2. stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, bbq sauce, chili powder & hot pepper sauce. Simmer for about 10 minutes over low heat, stiffing occ. until mixture has thickened.

3. Place a wheat bun on each plate. Top each with a lettuce leaf & portion of turkey mixture.
