DATE AND WALNUT COOKIES

Introduction

My Mother-In-Law always has a batch of these in the cookie jar and now my daughter bakes them for us. They are dead easy, and soooo good.

Number of Servings: 36

Ingredients

    1 cup chopped walnuts
    1 cup chopped dates
    2 cups self raising wholemeal flour
    1 cup raw sugar
    250 grams butter
    Icing sugar for dusting (optional)

Directions

Melt butter and then mix all ingredients together.
Roll tablespoons of mixture in palm of hand and place onto greased baking tray. Gently compress with a fork.
Bake in a preheated 180c oven, for about 15 mins or until golden.
Allow to cool, and they will harden a little. If you want, you can dust with icing sugar.
Makes many.
