Homemade Honey-Roasted/Candied Walnuts

Introduction

Great in my Super-Easy & Super-Tasty Yet Healthy Goat Cheese, Spinach & Chicken Salad! Great in my Super-Easy & Super-Tasty Yet Healthy Goat Cheese, Spinach & Chicken Salad!
Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

    1 cup of chopped walnuts
    2 Tbs. of Honey
    1/3 Tsp. Cayenne Pepper
    Dash of Salt (to taste)

Directions

Put honey, cayenne and salt in bowl. Microwave for about 20 seconds or until honey has thinned. Pour walnuts in bowl. Mix with spoon until all nuts are covered in mixture. Spread nuts on baking pan, preferably lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15 minutes in 350 degree oven. Stir nuts around halfway through baking time. Let nuts cool before placing in closed container.

Makes 16 1 tablespoon servings.

    I make these every other day and add them to my spinach/craisin/apple/feta salad. They are phenomenal! I also like to substitute cinnamon for cayenne and just snack on them. - 2/21/12
