Retro Mid-Century Tomato, Cucumber, Onion Salad

Ingredients
Red Ripe Tomatoes, 1 large whole (3" dia) -slice thin Black Pepper or Mrs. DaashBasil, 15 leaves [whole fresh]Cucumber (with peel), 0.5 cucumber (8-1/4") - slice lengthwise to seed, then thin slice crosswise - thin*Yellow Tomato, 1 Whole, - slice thinOnions, raw, 1 large - slice thin and separate into ringlets.
Directions
Using 9X9 inch clear Pyrex casserole:
Layer thin sliced red tomatoes. Lightly sprinkle with pepper.
Layer basil leaves
Layer thin slices of seeded cucumber. Lightly sprinkle with pepper.
Layer thin slices of yellow or available Tomato. Lightly sprinkle with pepper.
Scatter onion ringlets over-all.
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
Even better if longer. Provides 4 large servings.

    Made this to go with a vegetarian dinner tonight. Easy to do, very pretty, very tasty. The thing to really try is to get everything cut as thinly as possible. I had to sharpen the knife to do it the way I wanted. Just fine without anything but the basil, also a bit of oil and vinegar. YUM! - 8/7/10

    So I made this tonight. Fabulous! I have 3 different types/colors of tomatoes and it sure made for a pretty dish!
