Yummy! I followed the advice of some other folks and halved the butter by subbing apple sauce. Also I used all whole wheat flour. The batter is not as tasty as plain, but the cookies are great! - 6/20/09

These were great! I cut the butter in half and added a 1/3 cup of plain applesauce instead. They were awesome! I would bake them a little bit longer next time and make them a little smaller -- especially with the appleasauce. Great recipe!! - 2/12/09

Not bad at all. Left the recipe as is. Wasn't very chewy but more melt in your mouth. The kids enjoyed it. - 7/31/13

I've made this recipe many times before finding it was already listed on SP. Best cookies ever, but I have one issue like many other members. I don't have a 1/8th cup measure, but I use a small cookie scoop and am only able to get 32 cookies with it. So the servings listed may be unrealistic. - 3/31/13

These are very, very good! Crunchy around the edges and chewy in the middle. I was lazy and didn't melt the butter beforehand (I used margarine and just let it soften), and it turned out fine. I must control myself around the cookie jar when these are inside! - 7/17/12

These are perfect. The only change I made was to use 1 cup of mini chocolate chips instead of 2 cups of regular. I had to bake them for 13 minutes but they came out soft and chewy. - 7/3/11

This came out PERFECTLY and it was absolutely delicious. However I had trouble making the 48 serving size as well. If my measurements were correct for the second batch, the true size that's considered 106 calories is a very very small cookie! Delicious nonetheless.... - 3/20/10

I first found this recipe on Allrecipes.com - it is fantastic!! It's my ultimate go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe!
The original recipe was for 18 servings, though, and used 1/4 cup dough per cookie, so be careful even with a 1/8 measuring cup. Adjust your calories accordingly. - 6/16/09

Just made these!!! Amazing!!! I was able to use small enough dough balls to get 48 cookies... From the nutritional facts there is 3 points plus (weight watchers) in one cookie... - 12/6/12

I did a recipe makeover based on what I used for the recipe and the number of cookies I was actually able to make. 1tbsp serving size, but decent size cookies. I have followed this recipe before exactly and there is no way to get 48 cookies using the 1/8 cup said for size. - 10/22/12

I used stone ground unbleached whole wheat flour, 1/4 tsp salt, and didn't know what silpat was but I use parchment anyway. - 9/7/11

These are super good. I substituted all of the butter for mashed banana (I had no applesauce), put some Flax seed in there, 1 c chips, and only used 3/4 c brown sugar & 1/4 c Turbinado sugar and these were excellent. Yum! - 6/5/11

These are delicious! I added walnuts, just cuz. Also, I had to cook them for about 15 minutes until they were all done, but hey! So good!!! - 5/16/11

There were great, I also used 1/2 the butter and used unsweetened applesauce and the cookies were perfectly chewy! Great recipe! They really are the BEST EVER!!! My husband and Stepfather request them frequently! - 10/16/10
