Not sure why people are complaining about 315 calories being a lot - I think that's great for a meal! You could eat four meals a day at 315 calories and be at only 1260 which would be low-range for almost everyone!

Great recipe, I'll be trying it soon. - 5/7/09

Ground turkey would lower the fat and calorie count on this dish. - 2/8/09

Very filling, but I could make a better tasting taco salad off the top of my head, for fewer calories. But still good. I don't really like the spice combo of fresh garlic and onion powder, and would suggest substituting taco seasoning. - 8/14/07

The recipe says one serving. The nutritional info calculated only accounts for 2 ounces of beef, not the whole 4 ounces (which is a 1/4 pound). The recipe as written above is actually 400 calories if you use the whole 1/4 pound of lean beef. - 9/22/13

Thanks, don't forget to rinse the black beans in a colander. It cuts down the sodium. - 1/19/21

I added a little chili powder and cumin to the meat. I mixed the salsa and sour cream to use as a dressing, I also added 1/2 avocado - 3/23/19
