I used whole wheat white flour a 1/2 cup brown sugar for part of the sugar in the batter. I had frozen cranberries on hand, so I used them in place of the blueberries. My family loved it and we felt the cranberries gave an extra bite and was a perfect blend with the sugars. - 1/26/15

Making it again now for the second time in two days! Used regular granulated sugar and it was still delicious! Thanks! - 7/31/13

This was excellent. I used white whole wheat flour and the dark cane sugar. I sprinkled walnuts on the top because my husband loves them. It was so good we had to hide some in the freezer so it wasn't so tempting. Thanks for sharing! - 8/6/11

Maybe I should have gone with real sugar but I subbed Splenda. It was OK fresh but later in the day it just didn't measure up. I didn't even bother to freeze the balance. Just didn't seem worth the calories. My advice...stick with sugar on this one! - 6/17/11

This was great! I used wheat flour because that is what I had, and I think the nuttiness of the wheat made it that much tastier. I added 1 tsp of lemon zest, and an additional tsp of baking powder. (I find the wheat flour needs more "pouff.") Other than that I followed the recipe. Thank you! - 3/2/11

This is exactly what I was craving. I made the 1/2 sugar and 1/2 Splenda version and it came out great. It's going into our recipe book. - 8/28/10

This coffee cake was AMAZING! I thought it would be ordinary, probably kind of dry just from what they ingredients looked like, but it was SOOO moist, flavorful, and delicious! I used Splenda's baking sugar with 1/2 and 1/2 sugar/splenda, and it turned out great!! I would highly recommend it!! - 4/30/10

Wonderful! Only change I will make next time is to add some cinnamon to the batter because that seemed a tad bland. The crust was AMAZING! Really great coffee cake! - 1/12/09
