1 pound bacon, browned2 medium onions, chopped1/3 cup Olive Oil2 cans italian or plum tomatoes, crushed with juice1 cup white wine1 tbsp crushed red pepper, or to taste1.5 tsp salt12 Basil leaves torn or 1 tsp dried1 pound dried linguine cooked to package directions
Brown and drain bacon. Add onions and olive oil and saute until onions are transparent. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer until oils separate, approx 40 minutes. Serve over lingunie or bucatini pasta. Makes 6 servings.
