This was awesome! I made a couple of changes, used 1 lb extra lean ground beefand 1/2 lb ground turkey. Used tomato sauce and a little bbq sauce. Put in crockpot for 3 hours. Loved it, ate as chili with some melted cheese on top. Even 14 year old son loved it! Will definately make again. - 11/3/08

I subbed 2 cans of low salt diced tomates for the tomato juice and tomatoes with chilis and added a couple of seeded, deveined jalapenos, and diced a red sweet pepper, large peeled carrot, peeled parsnip, and added 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin. I put all into the crockpot for a few hours - mmmmm

This was pretty good. Definately healthier than the regular version. I forgot the onion (shame on me) so maybe that would have helped the flavor a bit. Next time, I think I'll only use half the beans and add a bit more spice. It was just a little bland for me. My husband liked it though. - 7/10/08
