Introduction
I'm SO glad I re-worked my recipe! I'm SO glad I re-worked my recipe!Number of Servings: 3
Ingredients
-
Mushrooms, fresh, 137 grams (about 9 med.)
Turkey Bacon, 1 slice
Untoasted wheat germ, 1 tbsp
Bread crumbs, dry, grated, plain, 1 Tbsp
Olive Oil, 1/2 t
Worchestershire Sauce, French's, 1 tsp
Romano Cheese, 1 Tbsp
Garlic powder, a dash
Onion powder, a dash
Pepper, a dash
Water, 1 Tbsp
Directions
Brush any dirt off of mushrooms (plain white ones), and remove stems. MInce stems.
Put wheat germ and bread crumbs in a small dry pan and toast them over low heat. They're done when you can smell them. Remove from heat and put aside. (I use one pan, just dump those in a bowl for a few minutes till I need them)
MInce the slice of bacon. Add bacon, olive oil, and mushroom stems to small saute pan. Cook over med-low heat until warmed through. Add onion and garlic powder, stir. Add bread crumb/germ mixture and worchestershire sauce. Stir. Add 2 t water and stir to combine into stuffing.
Remove from heat, then add cheese.
Put stuffing into mushroom caps, place on lightly sprayed pan and put in 350 degree oven or toaster oven for 10 minutes. Then sprinkle 1 T water around the pan, and bake another 5 minutes.
ENJOY! 3 to a serving.
