Introduction
I usually use ground (or diced up) chicken, but tried it with turkey and it was just as good...so I calculated it using turkey. NOT INCLUDED in the nutritional values, but recommended topping would be a tablespoon of sour cream. It totally makes the dish! Ingredients
-
1 lb ground turkey
1 cup diced celery
1 cup diced onion
2 Tbsp butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cans Great Northern beans
1 can chili style diced tomatoes
2 cups chicken broth
1 small can salsa verde
1 tsp basil
1 Tbsp chili powder
1 tsp salt
pepper to taste
Directions
Brown meat in dutch oven, set aside. Saute onions and celery in butter until soft. Add garlic and saute a couple minutes longer.
Return the meat to the pot, then add rest of ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer about 15 minutes.
***I didn't calculate with it, but I HIGHLY recommend serving with a tbsp of sour cream mixed in. I seriously can't stress this enough! It's fabulous! :)
