Ingredients
up to 2.5 cups spinach leaves1 medium banana7 good sized strawberriesup to 3/4 cup orange juice
Directions
Put everything in a blender and blend until no more bits of spinach leaf are whirling around. If you want, you can blend the spinach and orange juice together first to make this faster!

Makes about 2 cups.

I like to freeze this in ice-cube trays and dump it in a 'to go' cup for a quick breakfast on the way to work.

I really like this recipe. Quick tip: Sometimes I buy a lot of strawberries on sale. So, that they don't go bad(which they quickly do) I blend them and freeze them in small individual containers and when I want to make this recipe I have frozen, no sugar added, strawberries. - 3/6/10

THANKS! I have this in my favorites. My girls saw me make this as my after workout snack, and they wanted one after taking a sip. Now, they are asking to have one everyday. They dubbed these, "Incredible Hulk Shakes"... What a great way to get spinach in my kids! THANK YOU! Very filling, too! - 8/27/08

This is so delicious! I accidently created a makeover recipe of it on here when I tried to figure out my nutritional info. The only thing I did differently to this great recipe was to add 2 tbsp of ground flaxseed. Yummy! - 1/13/12

Made something similar this morning. For those who don't think it's filling, you might try adding some oats to the recipe. - 3/27/11

I wasn't too sure about this, but it was yummy. I used 1/2 cup frozen strawberries and 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries and this upped the fiber and antioxidants. Because of the berries, mine wasn't green but this awful purply color with green specks. It looks gross but don't be deceived it's yummy! - 1/23/11

I've been making this every morning for about a week and it's AWESOME! I was a little worried about the spinach situation, but you really really can't taste it at all (and this is coming from a reformed super picky eater). Delish! Thanks :) - 3/29/10

I love this! To cut back a few calories I only used .5 C of OJ and a whole small frozen banana (I always have these sliced and on hand for my protein smoothies), and 100 grams of frozen peaches as I had no strawberries. I then added ice cubes (until desired consistency). Healthy Icee! - 6/10/12

This was a great recipe! My 2 year old loved it and so did my 6yr old(who informed me she wasn't drinking it because she saw spinach on the counter) will make again! - 3/28/10

I have been doing a green smoothie challenge since 1/2/09 and let me tell you I noticed a difference and the smoothie is good. I use 2 types of green--mostly spinach and either kale(good), swiss chard(good) or collard greens (have not tried but have the item). The color is weird but oh so good. - 1/10/09

I think I'll stick to solid foods but thanks for submitting this recipe :)

My mom says the same thing! If you want you can try eating a handful of almonds (or other nuts) with it. The fats and protein from the nuts can help you feel fuller longer! Also you get the satisfaction of chewing something - which can help!

I was very skeptical, but it seemed so weird I had to try it! Plus, I'm recovering from a magnesium deficiency (spinach is a beautiful thing) and am tired of salads, almonds, et al. I made a half recipe as a snack and added some natural peanut butter for protein & healthy fat. - 8/8/12

OMG you can't taste the spinach at all! I upped the spinach to 3 cups and the OJ to 1 cup and it was amazing. This is coming from a girl who hates her beggies - 9/12/10

this is sooo good! You can't taste the spinach. For those who think it is not filling enough, you may just need to make more. my friend and I drink a large 32 oz. one through out the morning and I am satisfied until lunch. - 7/24/09

I chug a smoothie every day before I have to run and take my hubby to PT (he's Army) at 0430. This'll be great to try! I like to alternate sips (time permitting) with Quaker Oatmeal Squares box cereal. The cinnamon flavor is the best :) - 9/30/08

Despite the weird color, this smoothie tastes awesome! You can't taste the spinach at all! - 9/27/08

this was tasty! i totally think my boys would love this, too. i figure this equals to 2 vegetables and 2 fruits! lotta bang for the buck! :) - 9/24/08

Love this recipe. I really struggle with getting my fruits and veggies in and this helps a ton. Another thing I've been trying to incorporate into my diet is tart cherry juice. Today, I made this smoothie using tart cherry juice instead of OJ and it was delicious and berry-colored! - 6/23/14

Be careful with strawberries as they are often heavy on pesticides. Try to use organic products whenever possible. - 3/13/14
