Ingredients
4 peeled frozen bananas, sliced
Directions
Place frozen bananas in the bowl of a food processor. Pulse several times to break into smaller pieces, then turn on and run for about five minutes, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides of the bowl. The bananas will start to resemble soft serve in a few minutes. Transfer to a bowl and place in freezer for about 15 minutes, if you'd like, or serve immediately.

I topped mine with a tablespoon of pure maple syrup mixed with 2 t dark cocoa powder (calories not included).
(Makes four 1/2 cup servings)

I needed something for desert for a small dinner party. I did not have time to go to the store but had frozen bananas for banana bread. I added almond extract and a little vanilla. It was FABULOUS!! Creamy and delicious! My guest were impressed. I also sprinkled a bit of chocolate on top! WHO KNEW?? - 7/15/09

This is an amazing recipe! So far, I've tried it plain and blended with frozen raspberries. The combinations are endless!

Before I freeze the bananas, I cut them into chunks. I found that the mixture gets a bit 'dry', so I add a bit of water to help with the blending.

    Thanks for sharing! - 7/28/09

After seeing this in the dailySpark blog I froze bananas overnight and had a "soft serve banana ice cream" for breakfast...I just stuck some granola on top...Perfect and easy!!! Brilliant! - 7/21/09

I add 1tbsp of cocoa (per serving) and a splash of soymilk. It makes beautiful chocolate "ice cream" for about 145 calories! - 7/21/09

Haven't tried this recipe yet, but I've been using frozen bananas for years for nutritional shakes. HINT: Freeze bananas in their own skin for convenience, then zap on high in microwave for 20 seconds just before using.

Frozen peaches should do wonderfully for ice cream too. - 8/17/09

The riper the bananas are that you use, the sweeter and creamier it will be. A fabulous treat! - 2/10/10

Right after whipping the texture of this would be excellent for using as a whipped topping for fruit. I also used silicone muffin cups to make uniform size/shape portions to top with strawberries and pineapple after refreezing, this gives a great substitute for a banana split. - 7/27/09

Absolutely delicious! I make this all the time. I like to blend in a tsp of vanilla extract and sprinkle frozen blueberries on top or stir fresh ones in right before the 15 minute freeze. - 7/20/09

I peel, slice and put each banana in a baggie and toss into the freezer , then presto, on a moments notice ice cream,(if you lay them flat in baggie, they don't clump together) and separate easily, not rough on food processor that way, either. - 2/7/10

Add a dash of lemon juice, orange juice, or lime juice to help prevent the browning and each juice gives it's own flavor. lime and banana goes good after mexican food. orange and banana mix nicely with berries. lemon and banana with some vanilla and some cool whip is dreamy. - 2/10/10

Wow, amazing that this tastes SO MUCH like ice cream. I added a bit of skim milk and vanilla extract. YUMMY! - 8/12/09

Changed my life! Try putting a tbsp of cocoa powder in with it and then it's CHOCOLATE banana ice cream! - 8/16/09

I thought this sounded great, but I tried it & it did nothing for me. It tasted just like mashed bananas, even when I tried some of the other options people mentioned. If you freeze it for more than 15 mins (leftovers) it becomes hard as a rock & doesn't unthaw very well. - 7/28/09

This is very good and easy to make. What a refreshing and cool treat. I warmed up the chocolate sauce for about 15 secs and poured over ice cream... WOW!!! - 7/14/09

Loved this too. What a wonderful way to eat bananas, just waiting to be discovered. I tried zesting in the peel of a lemon and and orange...just gives it that extra "kick"! - 7/15/09

This is a remarkable recipe. The texture was amazing. We made it with bananas that weren't quite ripe enough and the flavor was a little bit bitter. Next time I'll use riper fruit. - 7/21/09

This makes good sense. I usually have bananas in my freezer for cooking, I just never tried them this way. I freeze grapes for a snack, why not bananas? - 7/14/09

Great fun! Be sure to freeze peeled and chunked or even sliced banana. I am not a big ice cream person at home.. I try not to buy it at all. So this is a nice single serving option to make as needed. And easy way to make use out of bananas about to go bad, just peel and freeze. - 7/27/09

Frozen bananas are yummy. I also like slicing them in half width ways and putting a stick in them to make a frozen lolly. My kids love them. - 7/20/09
