Ingredients
-
1 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup Splenda
1/4 cup Hershey's cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup water
1.5 TBS molasses
1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp vinegar
3/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup Hershey's Dark chocolate chips
Directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease and flour square pan, 8 x 8 x 2 inches.
In small mixing bowl combine flour, splenda, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients.
Add water, molasses, unsweetened applesauce, vinegar, and vanilla; beat with mixer until smooth.
Pour into prepared pan.
Sprinkle chocolate chips over top.
Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
You can make cupcakes/muffins instead and bake for about 15 minutes at 350 instead. (Also, if you make muffins, either mix the chocolate chips into the batter before putting in the greased muffin pan, or press them down into the batter a little if you sprinkle them on top - otherwise they'll just sit on top of the muffin instead of sinking down into it a little).
Cool in pan on wire rack.
Cut into squares.
