Introduction

If you like sushi, you'll love this guacamole makeover! The creaminess of the avocado mellows the heat of the wasabi, and other familiar Asian flavors give this south of the border dip an Eastern twist. Ingredients

1 cup fat-free plain Greek yogurt
    1 teaspoon wasabi powder
    2 avocados, pits removed
    2 T lime juice
    1 T reduced-sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup pickled ginger, drained, and minced
3 scallions, greens and whites chopped
shiso leaves (Japanese mint) for garnish (optional)

Tips

Can't find shiso? Check an Asian supermarket or swap it for cilantro.
Black sesame seeds would also be a suitable garnish.
We like this served with rice crackers, rice cakes or sliced vegetables--especially carrots and cucumbers.

Directions

Combine the yogurt and wasabi powder in a medium bowl.
Mash the avocados in the same bowl with the remaining ingredients. Serve immediately or cover the surface with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 4 hours.
Garnish before serving.

Serving Size:  heaping 1/4 cup
