I will try this the long weekend. It will be great while cooking out.
Fantastisch, kende het niet maar wij zetten van allerlei dingen op tafel en vullen onze springroll naar eigen smaak....zoon van 8 vind het lekker en leuk en vraagt er iedere dag om... ; )
I use Bragg's liquid Aminos and a little toasted sesame oil (I know, calories!) in the water for soaking the rice paper. Yummy.
I've always wanted to know how to make these, I love spring rolls. I'm headed to the store right now. Thank you:)
Hmmm...I have made traditional spring rolls, but never considered substituting the rice paper for tortillas. Great idea!
goin' out to buy me some spring rolls! thanks for pointing out how this is a great much lower cal substitute for tortillas!
Great video. I am going to make this recipe this week end! I love your videos, please do more. I am going to share this video with my team.
Thank you Chef Meg! Easy and delicious is just the way I like it:)
love the basil sauce! Adding mint leaves would be good, too.
Looks easy enough.
I looks yummy
this is great! I did not know you could make these spring rolls without deep frying with the other type of wrappers! YES! Definitely a wonderful way to make 'fast food' the right way!
I have been working so hard in the kitchen I am off to Walmart and hopefully they have the shrimp with mint. I could live on those. Hoisin sauce and peanut butter sound perfect! Need to check the calories though. Sometimes the only way to keep them low and the food healthy is to do it yourself.
I love Chinese food and it is good to see spring rolls that are not deep fried. Going to check for a burrito recipe now (since Chef Meg mentioned rolling the spring roll like one).
The crispy ones come from a different type of wrapper and then deep frying them (kinda counteracts the healthier benefits from these Spring Rolls. We love ordering spring rolls at the Vietnamese restaurants!
I believe I would like this and I'm not much for new foods.
ai like this recipe.
I make mini versions of this but without the sauce. Quiet addictive and fun to make. I've also tried cooking them but it doesn't really make it crispy - but they are nice warm.
Can u cook these to make the outside crispy?
For those people asking for the recipe - just go to Sparkpeople.com and look up Chef Meg's Spring Rolls - it's that simple!!
The background coloer of Chef Meg's set washes her out! She needs a new background color on the walls of her set! Pretty sage green, but it does nothing for her and she is too attractive to be looking so washed out!
I love spring rolls! Can't wait to make these. Love them with Shrimp
So many easy things to make at home.
I wish Chef Meg had given the recipe for a Thia dipping sauce. I know it has fish sauce & chopped nuts much better than anything mayo based. IT is a this sauce you you can drizzle it into your rice paper wrap.
Sounds really good. I will give it a try.
i love making spring rolls! I use the slaw and bean sprouts and tofu. with some peanut sauce.. mmm
I love spring roll!!
I agree with everyone else - mayo for the dipping sauce? I love the sweet sauces that usually come with spring rolls - how about a low-cal recipe for that?
Great video. A co-worker actually prepared spring rolls for my office, very tasty. My only comment is the rice paper was kind of sticky.
Someone from my church just made the same type of items at our Taste of Friendship. Interesting this is a similar item.
looks great - maybe a new way for me to eat carrots !!
will try very soon.
Great easy video to follow. I used low fat mayo and just a little bit for flavor.
sounds good but no mayo, just anice dipping sauce
Come on people! Mayo is not the enemy! Moderation! That is the key.
To those who wrote the video off after seeing Mayo - try not to do that, you will miss out on some nice ideas. Take out of the recipe what you like and improvise and replace what you don't like with something that you do like.
GONNA TRY THESE,SIMPLE
I agree with post #1. As soon as I saw mayo as an ingredient, I lost interest.
I haven't listened to the video, because I got distracted by the jar of mayonnaise. I don't understand why Americans have to put mayonnaise on everything! Yucky! I have several Thai recipe books. No one uses mayo! Why not some coconut milk?
don't think I'll use this but enjoyed the vidio
seems simple enough, think it sounds good and quick
can't wait to try it for my husband, when we get to Phoenix
looks so simple!
Video inspired Me!! I make them for lunch all the time now.
thanks for the demo...I'll give rice wrappers a try!
Really good, but I kind of failed with the wrapping of the spring roll! It was still really yummy though.
Spring Rolls are great with Shrimp also. I buy them frozen at Wal Mart and when I want some for a spring roll I just take 3-4 out of the package and soak in warm water. Peanut butter with some Hoisin sauce is great for the sauce but really high on the sodium.
I don't understand why SparkPeople, especially Chief Meg, doesn't use Nasoya (Nayonaise) at only 35 cal /tbsp, instead of mayo or other higher calorie alternatives.
On the mayo, what ingred are you allergic to? some of the new mayos have olive oil in them. Some have egg whites and not whole eggs. Maybe need to know and check ingreds.
oh, also try some hoisin sauce mixed with peanut butter for a dipping sauce.
Chef Meg why the mayo????? I love Thai/Asian foods and have never seen a recipe that uses mayo. A good spring roll is so simple, favorite veg shredded, fav protien shredded, and they don't store well for more than 12 hours. Sorry to say while I like most of your stuff this one is disappointing.

To the people complaining about lack of text, watch the video with CC on and take notes. I would use plain yogurt instead of mayo.
If you click "View Recipe Listing" besides the video title it will take you to the actual recipe for this. I make these with shrimp very yummy!

Are there written versions of these recipes?? I need to see the recipe in front of me rather than "watching" it being made. Maybe I'm missing something?
i stopped when i saw mayo. a shame everything has to have it..i'm allergic..
Sounds yummy, think I will try it!
Okay, this looks like something I can get my son to help make for a family meal. I thought you had to cook a spring roll, I LOVE this idea and will have to give it a try.
this is dinner tonight
I have always been curious about spring rolls,. Thank you for this video.
great way to eat veggies! tee
I've made these before but I let the wrappers soak too long and they were too sticky. Turned out to be a mess. This demo helped. I must have had plans for these because I still have 4 pkgs in the pantry. I know what's for dinner tonight!
I'm going to buy rice paper tomorrow - will definitely try for lunch!
Have wanted to make these. Now I see that there is not much to making them. Thanks for your great recipies
Wow - looks so simple and delicious! I am definitely going to make this with leftover chicken soon!
good dish to try. Video sound was poor, echo in background.
Looks great, I'm going to make one for lunch today with veges and shaved chicken, thanks Meg
This sounds great and I tried to do spring rolls and now I know how to do it. Spicy sauce sounds good to add as well.
Recipe looks good. Meg needs to NOT talk so fast, and to be a little more precise in her words when it comes to NAMING the sauces and ingredients that she is using.
I will definitely try these.
I am definitely going to try both of these...they sound delicious.
please can you prvide a written commentary underneath as we dont have speakers and this applies to the exercise videos as well
Even the kids love these! Yum!
I am definitely going to make these ... how simple and nutritious!
